For many years I visited Jalopnik on nearly an hourly basis for great content, funny stories, interesting news, heated debates, brutal comments, and a great sense of community. Jalopnik was a strong, well built machine, made with care and concentrated Bruce.
Now we get political drivel and COTDs asking for front wheel drive BMWs. What happened?
It’s been a really fun ride guys, but this site is officially out of cotomer sevis. I’m done with Jalopnik.

Meh.
Honestly, there are still some really good features. But things change over time, like taste. And to be fair, old Jalopnik had some real shitty posts, it’s just it’s easier to ignore them now since we probably don’t remember them.

Not sure I follow. There are 1, maybe 2 political-ish articles, both of which are vehicle related and an article about the FWD BMW. Pretty easy to just not click on them.

Only really visit Los Jalops anymore for Demuro, Orlove, and Torchinsky. The rest of it is just so BORING nowadays. Shame. At least we still have the three.

The F.P lost me when the staff would beat on oppositelock’s critique of F.P content, but then scour oppo to find content instead of creating their own. Oppo is still cool. But TheDrive.com has really good content. It doesn’t post as often in one day, but your not left sifting through to find the good stuff. Plus tyler is there. I’ll probably get flamed for my comment, but meh, I cant hear you from over at the drive anyway. Will always love oppo though.

Possible knock-on effects from the garker bankruptcy? Everything seemed reasonably interesting until then, and now seems to be coasting.
Where’s the rest of Orlove’s cross country bug story? Or did they sneak the ending by without me seeing it? Original content is good.

Yeah, I hate the bias, with top comments on that one post actually trying to defend Hillary Clinton. But it’s a part of Gawker, a liberal site which is going down the drain both in terms of readership and finances...
On a separate note, I should try to start up Breitbart Automotive when I’m in my twenties. They have Breitbart Tech already, headed by Milo.

I got banned for calling out the Tesla shilling, “journalist” errors, and maybe for mocking the hilarious buyer’s guides, haven’t really been back since, and don’t miss it. I originally showed up to read Murilee Martin’s work, he’s long gone, maybe it was time for me anyway.

I try to read TheDrive, but I just can’t deal with their website. It irritates me in the way that Buzzfeed irritates me because I take one look at it and this “I can’t deal with navigating this shit” and then feel old and angry about being made to feel old.

I think the content is still (usually) pretty great. But what burns me is when they take an idea from Oppo and rewrite it as their own, sometimes giving credit and sometimes not. They used to just share things from Oppo to Jalopnik.
